Handmade
Established by engineer-turned-designer Piyush Suri, Handmade in Britain was founded on a belief which quickly turned into a mission, to champion and support the outstanding designer-making talent that exists all over the British Isles.
From its inception in 2007, Handmade in Britain has stayed true to its original goal of promoting the finest design and craft practitioners in the UK, through fairs, events and pop-ups.
Handmade Oxford has Waterperry House as it’s backdrop and is for designer-makers to connect with customers, press, and buyers on a face-to-face basis. In addition to being a prime selling event, the festival will also provide designer-makers with the opportunity to host craft workshops and demonstrations, allowing them to further showcase their unique products and talents.
Celebrating Ceramics
Celebrating Ceramics is an artist led event, showcasing the very best in the world of contemporary ceramics.
The event is organised by Craft In Focus who have been staging contemporary mixed discipline craft events for over 20 years. Part of the organising team includes the curator of the ceramics section of Art in Action for 26 years who has a real passion for ceramics and wanted to keep the festival ethos of Art In Action at the heart of Celebrating Ceramics. The public can now expect an event with the same atmosphere as Art In Action and a loyal following of ceramic artists who want to demonstrate and meet their collecting public at this wonderful three day event.
Embrace the opportunity to meet, engage with and purchase directly from the artists, learn about the stories and inspirations behind the work. Take time to enjoy the exciting range of food, drink and music on offer in the event’s food village.
A range of demonstrations by some of the artists will offer an insight into the creative process. See and hear first-hand from the artists and understand more about the influences that lead to their unique creations,
Waterperry Opera Festival is a unique and innovative festival that offers high-quality, accessible and socially relevant work, created and performed by a diverse company, which bridges the gap between artists and audiences.
2022 was the 5th Anniversary with 8 productions; including revivals of the critically acclaimed productions of Mansfield Park (Dove) and Peter and the Wolf (Prokofiev). Headlining the festival are new productions of The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) and Svadba 'A Wedding' (Ana Sokolović).
